After the sucess of last years fundraiser the team at KRC are busy planning the 2012 KRC golf tournament.

The event will take place at last years venue Brechin Golf Club, date still to be confirmed.

This year all funds raised will be donated to local cancer charity Friends of ANCHOR, a charity that KRC International is passionate in raising funds for.

Team entry forms will be available soon, as well as sponsorship opportunities allowing us to raise funds for this incredible charity.

The ports of Auckland have announced strike action in December.

10.30 pm Thursday 1 December to 10.30 pm Monday 5 December

10.30 pm Thursday 8 December to 10.30 pm Monday 12 December

The strike will not only affect those periods – the flow on effect of trying to get containers before and after those dates, when port slot availability will be stretched, will also make December a difficult month. Another option, if the shipping line has the ability, is to unload in Tauranga and then rail the containers to the Auckland Metroport or Wiri Inland port.

KRC are excited to announce that we are now offering a full IT support and repair service. 

Gillian Innes our IT director, along with her team will be offering IT support services for businesses and home users including computer repair and maintenance and web design from our new IT workshop at our operational division in Montrose.  Along with our support services you will also be able to purchase IT equipment from laptops to printers, software upgrades and accessories.

As many of our clients know KRC International like a good cause!  We have organized ceilidhs, pub quizzes and a golf tournament this year alone.  One of the charities benefiting from our fundraising is Friends of ANCHOR which we have successfully raised more than £8000.  (Find out more about Friends of ANCHOR here.)

A patient of the ANCHOR unit and a very hardworking fundraiser; Dot Tadman, has lovingly compiled and published “The Secret Ingredient Charity Recipe Book” - a wonderful collection of recipes from the likes of celebrity chef Nick Nairn, Alex Salmond and even the Red Arrows!  The recipe book has been beautifully illustrated by both local and international artists, with every penny raised being donated to Friends of ANCHOR.

Port Closures during Ramadan

Please be informed that the annual Muslim religious holiday, Eid Al Fitr, is scheduled to take place soon in certain countries. This holiday marks the end of the Muslim holy month of fasting, know as Ramadan. During this time all port and customs activity will either be closed or partially closed and shipments may be delayed resulting in demurrage / detention charges.

INDONESIA:
The holiday is scheduled to take place from August 25 to September 4. As the Indonesian customs process can take up to 15 working days, shipments arriving later than mid-August might not be cleared until after September 7.

MALAYSIA:
In Malaysia we would recommend that no shipment arrive between August 29 and September 2. The Ports will be closed on August 30, 31 and September 1.

UAE:
The 1st day of Ramadan is expected to be August 1st 2011 and will last a full month (subject to moon sighting). Please note that customs clearance delays are expected during Ramadan as customs are operating with skeleton staffing.
After 1 month of fasting, the UAE will celebrate Eid Al Fitr Holiday, expected to be from August 31st to September 4th (subject to moon sighting). Customs will be closed during this holiday.
